An Overview of LINCCWeb License Terms
The College Center for Library Automation has negotiated license terms for many of the electronic resources available through LINCCWeb.
Your local insitution will also have negotiated terms for locally-purchased resources; check with your local librarian for more information.
For all CCLA-negotiated licenses (see list below), the following general restrictions apply:
- Authorized Users
Access is authorized for all persons affiliated with the local community college, including full- and part-time students
and employees of the college, regardless of the physical location of such persons. Remote access is allowed for these users.
People that are not officially affiliated with the local community college may use the resources in the
library only (walk-in access).
Authorized users agree to keep their Borrower ID and PIN secure, and not to share them with any other parties.
- Authorized Usage
When using the electronic resource(s), users may:
- electronically display the Licensed Materials,
- download and digitally copy (or e-mail) a reasonable portion of the Licensed Materials, and
- print a reasonable portion of the Licensed Materials.
- Additional Information
For library staff, the following are also allowed:
- Licensee may fulfill requests from other institutions, a practice commonly called Interlibrary Loan.
- Non-affiliated librarians may log on to help authorized users via virtual reference (Ask a Librarian).
Note: Thomson/MICROMEDEX license agreement does not address these additional terms.
