If you are searching for a word that can be spelled different ways (or if you aren't sure of the spelling) you can include willdcard symbols in your search. Use # (the pound sign) to symbolize either one or zero missing letters and the ! (an exclamation point) to symbolize exactly one missing letter.
Wildcards can only be used in a Keyword Search or Advanced Search; they cannot be used in a Browse Lists search.
Example: Searches For:
Colo#r Color, Colour
Arch#eology Archaeology, Archeology
Wom!n Woman, Women
Theat!! Theater, Theatre (but not Theatres)
Note: Wildcards can be used more than once in a single search term, but they cannot be used for the first letter of a word.
