You can use several limiting options to refine a Keyword Search or Advanced Search. Limiting narrows your search, so you will get fewer, but more specific, results. If you find that your limited search is not returning enough results, change or remove some of the limits to get a new set of results.
Note: Limiting options are only available in a Keyword Search or Advanced Search -- they aren't available in a Browse Lists search.
Several limiting options are available. Click a topic below to learn more.
Use the At box to choose the college library and campus you want to search. In most cases you’ll want to search for items at your home library – it’s probably set as the default option so you won’t need to select it. You can also select All to search all college libraries at the same time.
If the college you've selected has multiple campuses, you can also select a specific campus (or all campuses) for your search.
Use the Format box when you want to find a specific type of material – like videotapes, audiobooks, maps, or e-books. If you aren’t looking for any particular format, select All in the drop-down list. Look for the icons in the results list to determine the item's format. [View Formats and Icons]

Use the Language box to limit your search to items written in English, Chinese, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Russian or Spanish. You can also search for items written in any of these languages by selecting All.

Note: Limiting by language gives you results that are published in the language you selected. This setting does not change the LINNCWeb interface or online help to the language you choose.
Use the Year boxes when you want to find items published in a specific year or a range of years.

To find items published in a single year, enter the four-digit year in the first Year field (e.g., 1998).
To find items published in a range of years, enter the first and last years in the appropriate Year fields. The earliest year must be entered first (e.g., 1990 to 1999).
To find items that were published in an unknown
year or in particular decade, use a question mark as the last digit of
the year (e.g., 199?).
Note: Dates must be entered as a four digit year (e.g., 1988). Do not enter months or days.
